September is full of exciting activities in communities everywhere. It’s also a time to learn about how to live a more fulfilling life during your senior years. Participating in Go4Life Month is one way to do just that. The senior home care team at TLC Your Way Home Care has some information to share about this observance.
What is Go4Life Month?
Go4Life Month is a nationwide health campaign dedicated to helping adults and seniors find ways to include physical activities in their everyday routines. The goal is to encourage the development of the four main components of senior exercise routines: balance, endurance, flexibility, and strength. Each week of September, the Go4Life campaign focuses on one of these areas. Over the course of the month, you can learn how to increase exercise and find fun, creative, and healthy ways to stay active.
How can you stay active if you have physical limitations?
Everyone’s physical capabilities change as they age. Agencies that specialize in helping seniors (like TLC Your Way Home Care) have highly trained staff members who know how to work around your unique concerns. When one of our helpers comes to your home, they can help you complete exercises or stretches that may have been recommended by your physician. They’ll also make sure you’re up and moving around. Love to go on walks around your yard or neighborhood? We’ll keep you company and make sure you’re safe.
What’s the best way to learn more?
If you have certain medical conditions, your physician or physical therapist may have a regimen of exercises to complete. If you’re in good health, ask your doctor about the best ways to stay active at your age. If you’re concerned about falling or suffering an injury during physical activity, consider adding in-home care for an added measure of security.
